Suzanne Salzmann

December 8, 1931 — December 27, 2020

Jackson resident Suzanne "Sue" Salzmann died peacefully Sunday, December 27 with family at her side. Sue was 89

Mrs. Salzmann was born December 8, 1931 in Davenport, Iowa to David Nelson Richardson and Marion Keith Richardson.

Suzanne was a very active person who loved the Jackson area, may it be winter or summer. She would tell the story of her first time to Jackson back in the early 1940's. She was a young girl visiting the area with her family while staying the night at the new Wort Hotel. From her room she could hear all the noises coming from the main floor of the Hotel.

She graduated from Davenport, Iowa High School Class of 1950. She loved to ski in the winter and with this knowledge she attended College in Denver, Colorado.

Sue spent most of her life in the Western regions of the United States but decided that Jackson would be her home in the late 70's. She was a Volunteer that got involved with many organizations such as Jackson Home-Makers, Singing with the Jackson Hole Chorale and Saint John’s Hospital Auxiliary. Sue was also a Member of National Society of the Colonial Dames of American and a Chapter member of the P.E.O. Her love of singing also kept her busy at Saint John's Episcopal Church Choir and Alter Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband James (Dick) R. Salzmann. Sue is survived by her son Donald S. Perkins and daughter Sarah Coleman, grandchildren Sean Coleman and Katelyn Coleman.

The family had a private service. With our deepest gratitude for your kindness, in lieu of flowers please donate in Sue's honor to Saint John's Episcopal Church or Saint John's Hospital Auxiliary. Due to concerns a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
