Brian Chamberland

Brian Raymond Chamberland died unexpectedly on October 5, 2019 in Wilson, Wyoming at the age of 44.

Brian is survived by his father, Raymond Chamberland and proceeded in death by his mother Elizabeth Chamberland of Wilson, Wyoming; he is also survived by his daughters Bailey Ann Chamberland and Ashlyn Rae Chamberland and former wife Amy Hindman.

Brian was born on November 1, 1974 in Manchester, Connecticut to Raymond and Elizabeth Chamberland. He graduated from Jackson Hole High School in 1993.  He went on to get a degree in Golf Course Management and design. In early 2000, Brian reconnected with a school friend, Amy Hindman.  After a courtship, they were married and started a family. They remain good friends and co-parents and had lots of plans for the future. Brian was a devoted and proud father, supporting his daughters Bailey and Ashlyn in everything from rodeo, high school and club sports, fishing and hunting, even coaching youth baseball for his girls.

In his youth, Brian was an avid and accomplished golfer winning the WY State Championship in 1992.  Throughout his life he loved being on the water and fishing, possessing a great sense of adventure.  For over twenty years, he spent his summers as a fishing guide and outfitter passing on his passion for fishing and the outdoors to others.  Several articles written about Brian highlight his knowledge and love for the sport of fly fishing. When teaching others to fish, he was known for practicing patience and passing on his knowledge to anyone willing to learn.  Brian also gave back to his community, volunteering with the Wilson Fire Department.

Brian was constantly a loyal and supportive friend. He maintained friendships from childhood to new friends.  He was always willing lend a hand and learn from others, not shying away from difficult tasks.  He is loved and will be missed.

His daughters will always remember Brian being the best dad for them and being proud of his sobriety, they have camping and fishing trips to treasure as well as the art of Fly tying that only he could teach them. He is also mourned by his best hunting partner, Blaze, whom Brian trained and would take to field trials where Blaze finished in the top 3 in the region.  Bailey, Ashlyn and Blaze will be hunting with Brian’s spirit.

A funeral is scheduled for October 23, 10:00 am at Our Lady Of The Mountains Catholic Church with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Brian’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bank of Jackson Hole for Bailey and Ashlyn.
